Hello Skiers and Riders
Somehow I can’t believe it is August already. Where does the summer go?
Get out and enjoy what’s left, because fall will soon be here.
Reports from South America are coming in fast and furious and the news is: BIG DUMPS - from Valle Nevado to Las Lenas to Portillo, to Ski Arpa, all are reporting fresh snow and GREAT Ski conditions. I have attached a few photos from Valle Nevado to inspire you to maybe head south
If you think you can sneak away for a few days, we can make it happen for you. Still some time to take advantage of Spring Skiing specials in South America.
As the summer season winds down in South America our thoughts turn to the 08/09 season in North America.
Many resorts are upgrading lifts, adding base lodges and improving infrastructure for all of us.
Jackson Hole - New Tram
One of the biggest improvements will be THE RETURN of THE BIG RED BOX, aka a new 100 passenger tram to Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
Why not be one of the first to ride the new tram which will ascend Rendezvous Mountain in 9 minutes (vs. 12 for the old tram) and you too can enjoy bragging rights around the water cooler. Word is the tram is right on schedule and will open on or around December 20, 2008.
We have some great specials throughout the Jackson area and we can custom build a ski plan to suit your individual needs and budget.
If you have not skied Jackson Hole, now may be the time to plan a trip. The new tram will provide access to the top of Rendezvous Mountain which allows you to ski the longest continual vertical drop top to bottom in the United States, 4,139 vertical feet of pure bliss.
Jackson Hole has been working hard to improve their beginner and intermediate ski/ride experience and word is out that it is not just for experts only anymore.
Combine some of the best skiing in the world with a large variety of accommodations, including the new Eco friendly Terra Resort and the award winning Four Seasons Resort and you have the ingredients for a fabulous ski holiday.
We have also amended our Early Season and Book by specials below, so remember, the early bird, gets the turns as well as best priced air and first choice of lodging.
We’re here for you and we WANT your business, so give us a call and tell us what it is going to take to get you on the slopes next winter. In the meantime, get out and enjoy what’s left of summer 2008

Ski News as it Happens! |
As you recall - Last week we featured Ski Arpa, South America's only true Snowcat - serviced resort in Chile. We claimed that it provides skiers and snowboarders with untracked powder, no crowds, dramatic views and ear-to-ear smiles typically available only through expensive heliski operations.
Well, one of our clients John H. is just back from Ski Arpa and has this to say:
"Wonderful little cat operation, drive up the road from hell....to Heaven. At the summit you have these views of Acangagua (highest peak in the Western Hemisphere) to the Pacific Ocean!! Steep coolies and pretty good snow three days after the storm. Hope summer is treating you well!"
AND
John H., from Driggs Idaho who skis the deepest Targhee has to offer all winter felt compelled to e mail us last Sunday from Portillo to report a bluebird Powder Day.
John is now on his way to Las Lenas and we hope to bring you more notes from the field.
